Who we are
Dictagon is built by Mohamad El Sibaii, a civil engineer working on construction product data standardisation.
What was built
PDTs.pt, the open, standards compliant platform for Product Data Templates. It implements ISO 23386 and ISO 23387 for construction products, is live, and has an open API used by industry.
It was developed at the University of Minho with Miguel Azenha and José Granja, co-authors of the paper below.

The platform and its method were published in a peer reviewed journal, so the approach can be examined rather than taken on trust.

The DoPC standard is being written in that CEN working group, and Digital Product Passport approaches are being shaped in CIRPASS-2. The rules are read first hand, not from summaries of them.
Environmental data
A master's in Sustainable Built Environment is the background to the environmental side of this work: how EPD indicators are declared, and how they belong in the same structure as performance data rather than in a separate document.
Before the standards work
Six years of structural and geotechnical engineering, then product data standardisation across the areas that experience covers: geotechnical products, construction materials, precast elements, and finishes including ceramics.
It matters because a data template is only useful if it reflects how the product is actually specified, tested and declared.
How we work
Dictagon builds one thing: the dictionary-referenced data foundation underneath digital declarations and product passports. We work from the standards themselves: the published DPP standards, ISO 23386/23387, and the DoPC text as it stands in CEN/TC 442/WG 12.
For environmental product declaration data we work with established EPD specialists. The data foundation is ours; the EPD figures come from people who produce them.
